Foil helps keep things fresher

The best is to use zip lock containers.

it depends on the food type, for example, foil or wax paper somehow allow air in, which might help keep or completely rot your food; while ziplocs and vaccum stuff dont let any air in. It also depends if its raw or cooked food.
i usally prefer ziplocs for raw meats and vegetables, foil for pies or cooked meats, tupperwares for leftover rice, pasta, vegetables. for soups, i prefer corningware.
