Suncast DB9750 Extended Deck Box / Seat

I assembled the Vermont Castings 450 grill myself (Home Depot assembly “experts” screwed up the previous assembly). But this deck box takes the cake. If you did not perfectly assemble this deck the first time–in my case, I mistakenly swapped the C and B side-panels–then you will encounter difficulties. Suncast’s assembly instruction sheets did not provide clear and concise instructions–no dire warnings like: “you will loose your first born, if you get this wrong,” or clear and concise diagrams and instructions on how to fix assembly problems. And if you want to disassemble the unit later on for moving/storage purposes, you are SOL. I spent a total of @2 hours over two days–trying to disassemble the darn thing…got all scratched up and physically exhausted from the ordeal–before giving up. Customer service was unable to tell me exactly where to apply pressure to dislodge the latching mechanisms at the corners of the box. They faxed me this sorry piece of instruction…in paragraph form! No pictogram/diagram/arrows… nothing that would help me. Even my husband, the engineer, couldn’t get it…He excused his inability to help me by saying: “I am software, not hardware, engineer.” I am giving the Suncast box 1 star, because not even my “engineer” husband was able to fix my error. The panels are now all scratched-up, warped and no longer usable. I am not sure if Suncast will send replacement panels…last I heard they wanted to charge me @$30 per panel. I need to wait till next week to talk to the internet store and see what can be done. I will also complain to them for carrying a product that for me is rather user un-friendly and unforgiving.

I’m not one to complain believe me,( had I not recieved this email asking me to rate this product you would have never heard from me) when I opened this and saw that one of the panels was partially melted I couldn’t believe it, I immediately went in the house and looked for a phone number which there was none, I navigated around the amazon site and found a section to click on to return the item, and the page would not open, after about thirty tries over the next week and not being able to get the “return item” page to open I was left with my only option…put the “ripped” box it came in out with the trash and live with it!!!!

It is obvious by the scratches and grease marks on the item that it was previously owned and sent back ( god knows how since the return page wont open). I dont know what frustrated me more the condition of the item, or the fact that you cant open the page to return it.

At 44 years old Ive bought endless items on ebay,amazon and other online sites and I must say this is the only horrible purchase that I have ever made.

I love the box, just not this particular one, I would highly recommend you buy it , provided you can return it if when you open it you find its defective,…oh well,…live and learn.

This is a great but and large enough to hold chair cushions for 5 patio chairs with some room to spare.
