This is a perfect cabinet to use for garage storage, where its slightly homely appearance won’t matter, and where wooden or metal cabinets would be likely to get dinged by yard tools, cars, and so on.
The cabinet is easy to assemble-you don’t need tools to do it, though a soft mallet may be helpful. As with most Rubbermaid products, this one is almost indestructible. The cabinet’s lightweight construction makes relocating it easy, and it has a small footprint for what it can hold (it has 10.7 cubic feet of storage area, and will support up to 335 pounds). If you intend to use the cabinet to store toxic items, you may want to consider ordering a set of locks from the manufacturer as these are not included with the cabinet.–Josh Dettweiler

It looks great but it does not close properly. The doors remain open at all times even though it is not even full. Don’t bother with this. Shop around and find a different one.

The Rubbermaid Heavy-Duty Resin Base Cabinet arrived on my doorstep in a box that had been damaged in shipping. I looked inside and found that the hinges had been smashed. I refused delivery and arranged for a new unit to be sent to me.
When the replacement Rubbermaid Cabinet arrived, the box and the hinges were damaged in exactly the same way as the first. I again refused delivery and this time I cancelled the order.
The plastic molded hinges of this cabinet are thinner than the rest of the doors. Also, there is no protective packaging. Rubbermaid just fits the plastic cabinet parts into a plain cardboard box. No doubt that is why each of the two units arrived broken in the same place – at the hinges.

Love the Rubbermaid Base Cabinet. We purchased two 72-inch cabinets and two base cabinets. They look great across the back wall of our garage and they are extremely sturdy. No worry about rusty metal shelving either. The cabinets come in panels that snap together very easily. Looking at the product specs, we noticed the Rubbermaid storage products weigh twice as much as the other brands like Sterlite and Workforce which makes for a better product when it comes to storing paint, metal tools, etc. We ordered these cabinets through Amazon.com and loved the fast shipping and customer service. We highly recommend Rubbermaid products and Amazon.com! A+++++!!
