I put 2 stars, cuz if your like me, you disregard the 1 star evaluations, as it’s usually just someone really ticked-off about some minor issue that is irrelevant to everyone else……I love Amazon….but, you should probably just buy this type of purchase at you local discount store….cuz, at least there you can choose the ones that don’t have pieces of plastic broken off. I was just being too lazy, and added this to one of my other orders (because I needed some for the office). The bottom storage tote (in the stack of 6) probably just functioned as a shock-absorber for the others…and arrived in 12-15 pieces…..the other 5 and all 6 lids were fine. This isn’t the flexible Rubbermaid quality plastic. I just think they should ship it with some bubble wrap around the stack. Too much of a pain to send them all back for a darn $6 piece of fractured plastic. Do wish Amazon had a easy way to address these types of annoying issues (i.e. just send me one to replace the one I’m going to turn into a stained-glass-window…ya know?).

I purchased these totes for a couple of reasons. First, to store papers and other items that don’t like the dampness of my basement. Second, to create hydroponic growing boxes out of a couple of them. They came nested together with the lids on top, in a nice sturdy corrugated box. I was very happy for that since they were in perfect shape on arrival. No cracks or breaks whatsoever.
They are made of a nice grade of plastic, typical of home storage totes. Not brittle, but not flimsy either. Even the ones I used for hydroponic pots keep their shape even with water in them. Cheaper totes will warp outward on the long sides if they are full of water, but the shape and design of these keeps them solid. The lids are also nice and flat, so stacking them works perfectly.
I did not price-shop around on these, but when something is good to the purpose, I don’t worry about a few bucks here or there.

I purchased these to store the mess that is my older son’s room. He has train sets, and Mister Potato Head, and the Step2 towns and they were all scattered over his floor. Now they are neatly stacked in these bins. When we play with the toys we take them out and then when he wants to play with something else he helps me clean everything up by putting them back in these bins.
I got the clear bins so he could see his toys and pick what he wants to play with plus the 10 gallon clear bins (at the time of this writing) are $39.99 for 6 which is cheaper than the blue 10 gallon bins. And as far as I could tell that was a good price for these types of bins.
The bins are a clear plastic and are very sturdy. They stack easily but I wouldn’t recommend stacking more than three high as they do become a bit wobbly after that.
Good product for a good price. I recommend this product.

Out of the six boxes that came in the box, 4 were damaged. One of them was completely broken. All 6 lids had cracks in them. Packing seems to have been the main problem, the box was a tad small and there was no protection at all.
